OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Definitions
The following Terms and Conditions document is a legal agreement between Coverkitchen Pte. Ltd. , hereafter “Coverkitchen”, and “the Client” for the purpose of book design services. These Terms and Conditions set forth the provisions under which the Client may use the services supplied by Coverkitchen.
Coverkitchen is a services company offering the Client book cover and interior design (the “Work” or the “Works”). All work is carried out by Coverkitchen on the understanding that the Client has agreed to abide by Coverkitchen's Terms and Conditions.
2. Purchase of Services
The Client shall purchase services from coverkitchen.com website. When the Client places an order to purchase design services, the Client will make a non-refundable 50% retainer payment upfront to Coverkitchen. Following, Coverkitchen will send an email message to the Client with a PDF of the order summary, an invoice for the total of the purchase and a receipt for the 50% retainer payment.
Any other services on the order that have not been included in the invoice do not form part of the contract. The Client agrees to check that the details of the invoice are correct and should print and keep a copy for their records.
Additional work requested by the Client that is not specified in the purchase order or changes/updates are required after a phase of the project has been signed off by the client, is subject to an additional order from the Client. If the work is needed as part of an existing project, then this may affect time scale and overall delivery time of the project.
3. Project Acceptance
When the Client makes a payment for purchases of services from Coverkitchen, Coverkitchen will send to the Client an official invoice for the purchase total and a receipt for the 50% retainer payment paid by the Client. The invoice constitutes acceptance by Coverkitchen of the Client’s offer to purchase services from Coverkitchen and this acceptance of work is an agreement to comply fully with all the Terms and Conditions and forms a Contract for Business between the Client and Coverkitchen.
The Client shall fill out the complete brief form Coverkitchen’s website as a prerequisite to commence the work. No work on a project will commence until complete brief form has been received by Coverkitchen.
4. Fees and alterations
Any revisions, additions, or alterations to the project modifying the terms of the agreement as the Services to be performed and not included in any fee specified, shall be billed as additional services. Such additional services shall include, but shall not be limited to, changes in the extent of work, changes in the complexity of any elements of the project, and any changes made after approval has been given for a specific stage of design, documentation, or preparation of artwork.
5. Performance of Services

6. Permission and Copyright
Coverkitchen warrants that all materials provided to the client are original, created by its employees or contract personnel, or licensed from a third-party.
Coverkitchen assigns to the Client, all Intellectual Property Rights of the published work throughout the world, including digital rights, in full perpetuity of such Intellectual Property Rights.
The Client will agrees to abide by the terms of any license agreement for any images purchased by Coverkitchen. through a third-party image provider for use on the client’s book cover design. The cost of cover design includes the license to use these images and is limited to a print run of 500,000 units. For books with a print run over 500,000, additional licensing fees may apply. Images used for client’s cover are royalty-free; however, the photographer owns the copyright to those photographs and they cannot be distributed in any manner other than in the book cover design.
Coverkitchen retains the right to use client’s published book cover and interior design, name, and book title in Coverkitchen’s portfolio to market and promote Coverkitchen’s services.
Credit for the book cover work shall read: Cover Art by Coverkitchen.
If the client supplies Coverkitchen with materials subject to intellectual property rights by a third-party, the client will secure the appropriate rights to use the materials before directing the designer to incorporate them into his/her project. Should any intellectual property dispute arise involving materials the client provides, the client assumes full legal and financial responsibility.
The Client may request in writing a full transfer of intellectual property rights of the works created by Coverkitchen to the Client and Coverkitchen may, at its discretion, grant this. Coverkitchen reserves the right to charge fees for the full assignment of rights.
7. Deliverables
If multiple design concepts are submitted by Coverkitchen to the Client, only one concept is deemed to be given by Coverkitchen as fulfilling the contract. All other works remain the property of Coverkitchen, unless agreed in writing.
Following full balance payment from the Client, Coverkitchen will release production-ready files within one working week, provided the Client has provided all the materials to Coverkitchen required to complete the artwork.
Coverkitchen can provide source files of original artwork created by Coverkitchen except files of licensed assets containing licensed stock illustration, photography or fonts unless the end-user license agreement (EULA) allows it.
Payment for design work by the Client does not cover the release of copyright design source files by Coverkitchen, including but not restricted to .indd (Adobe Indesign), .psd (Adobe Photoshop), .ai (Adobe Illustrator) or other source files. If the Client requires source files to be edited by an in-house or other designer, Coverkitchen will submit a separate quotation.
8. Termination
This agreement may be terminated in writing if either the Client or Coverkitchen commits a breach and fails to remedy the breach within 14 days of receiving written notification from the other party specifying the breach and requiring its remedy.
This agreement may be terminated by any reason by either the Client or Coverkitchen, if a written notification is provided within 7 days. The 50% retainer fee paid upfront by the Client will not be refunded.
In the event of termination, Coverkitchen will retain all copyright even if the fees agreed to in advance have included the assignment of the copyright.
9. Applicable Law
In the event of any dispute, this agreement and all Terms and Conditions will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
