EBOOK COVER DESIGN
As self-publishing explodes, so does the problem of standing out on book-selling websites (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, etc.). Here’s where eBook cover design and cover design services become so important to the process.
While print books are still popular, almost 200 million eBooks were sold in 2020, and as of 2022, digital books represented approximately one out of every six books sold! and these numbers ignore technical and educational eBooks and those purchased over self-publishing platforms such as Kindle, Apple Books and Kobo. As more authors reap higher royalties and enjoy artistic freedom bypassing traditional publishing deals, self-publishing tools and platforms proliferate, allowing everyone an opportunity to express themselves and publish (and sell) their work!
For most authors, your book cover is a critical marketing tool. A professionally well-designed book cover conveys genre, author brand, and narrative. A strong book cover will grab attention and generate clicks, interest and sales. Professional eBook cover design is crucial because book-selling sites post book covers as thumbnails (small representations of larger images). Below are 14 book covers whipped up by Coverkitchen chefs. Their clever use of contrast, typography and imagery, reproduce beautifully at all sizes, particularly those you’ll see on Amazon and other book-selling sites! These covers are reproduced at .9x1.4 inches (approximately 85x136 pixels) and are easily readable and stand out for their unique design qualities, legibility and artistic beauty.
eBook cover designs that grab attention on a digital shelf
eBooks, like any book, succeed or fail by their covers. Your book cover offers a first impression, signifies genre, hints at narrative, and invites a reader to open your book. Your book cover grows your author brand. A great book cover honors its genre without ambiguity but never looks generic. Coverkitchen creates original and memorable book covers that stand out on book-selling websites!
You should always work with an experienced and professional design team who loves books and book covers! The Coverkitchen creates unique covers for international publishers like Penguin Random House and Wiley, while offering you the same services. Now you can compete with the big players!
Custom eBook cover designs made for any platform
Good design reads large or small: your book cover should be as inviting either viewed on a phone, eReader (color or B&W), 4K TV or monitor, billboard, etc. Many self-publishing platforms can generate printed paperback or hardcover copies alongside your eBook. With print-on-demand (PoD), readers have numerous choices, while authors no longer buy and store print-run inventories. Coverkitchen can create unforgettable book covers for both print and digital.
It’s difficult enough to write a great book, don’t undermine your long hours and hard work with a poorly designed book cover that will hurt your sales and, worse, be ignored as readers scroll by and click on your competition!
The Coverkitchen design team excels in typography, color psychology and imagery (photography, hand-created or computer-generated illustrations and 3D imagery) and will create your perfect and unique book cover.
We work closely with authors and publishers to create original designs. Your cover is not finished until you sign off on it. Our team is highly trained and experienced, and we love what we do. Our chefs create masterpieces, not fast food - and there’s never a hidden cost or surprise!
