The bestselling first instalment of the Carbo of Rome adventures, Watchmen of Rome follows the thrilling adventures of former soldier Carbo. After twenty-five long years serving in the Roman Legions, Carbo returns to Rome to retire in peace. Life has moved on in the time he’s been at the front, and he finds himself friendless and homeless. But when he comes across Rufa, a childhood friend he swore an oath to protect, he must fight to rescue her from an evil priestess, liberate her from slavery and save Rome from total annihilation.
In the action-packed sequel, Bandits of Rome, Carbo escapes the traumas of Rome for the quiet Italian countryside with those closest to him, but the rolling hills harbor a threat he could not have foreseen. When bandits attack, tragedy strikes and Carbo must overcome an evil conspiracy to save himself, his friends, and get the revenge he craves.
For the cover designs of these two titles, the publisher requested a complete overhaul. Cooking up a brand new exciting and distinctive 3D-based recipe, our cover cooks used Carbo himself as the main ingredient, fully dressed in his armor and wielding his shield and weapon. Iconic Roman architecture fills the background, while clouds of gushing blood complete the design. For each instalment of the series, the choice of armor, shield, weapon and even architecture used is unique to each title.
