Tao Te Ching

Classics

Written more than two thousand years ago, the Tao Te Ching is one of the true classics of the world of spiritual literature. Lao Tse's immortal work continues to remind readers of the ineffable beauty of life and the best way to live it in order to savor its sweetness without falling into disillusionment. Flowing with nature, changing with it, is an art that brings us closer to happiness. This 2002 reissue, exquisitely illustrated, gathers all of his unforgettable poems in an impeccable translation into Spanish. Twenty-six centuries later, his words remain truer than any that have followed. Its influence has spread widely outside East Asia and it is among the most translated works in world literature.

The cover and interior illustrations were inspired by the concept of Wu Wei, first articulated by the Tao Te Ching and meaning “effortless action”. To translate a state of unconflicted harmony, our cover cooks found random quotidian objects in their surrounding home environment and used them as impromptu ink drawing tools to create images with free-flowing spontaneity.
