The last days in the life of Evita, whose 100th birthday was commemorated in 2019, are days of deep reflections on the future of her country, her life project, love, health and dedication to a cause greater than oneself. A convalescent Eva Perón wonders about her life decisions and recalls the most important aspects of her work with her husband, Juan Perón. But the story of Eva Duarte de Perón does not end there. The lives of extraordinary people never end with a simple period. There is always something more. And so it is with Evita as well.

Translating to 'Don't Cry for Me', the book's cover concept draws inspiration from Don't Cry for Me Argentina, a song recorded by Julie Covington for the 1976 concept album Evita, which was later also included in the 1978 musical of the same name. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the song appears several times throughout the musical, initially as the spirit of the dead Perón exhorting the people of Argentina not to mourn her, during her speech from the balcony of the Casa Rosada, and during her final broadcast. The cover design sees an illustrated Perón sporting her iconic red lipstick and tight chignon hairstyle braided into a bun, weeping emotionally as her supporters watch over her shoulder.
