Don’t you love a perfect plan coming together like clockwork? Mark Howard had every aspect of his life planned down to the smallest details. He had backup plans for his backup plans, but was confident he wouldn’t need them. No one has ever been more wrong than him. In his debut book, Mark weaves his physical and spiritual journey. The Rowing Method is a practical approach for finding God at the center of everywhere you go. And yes, Jesus said to be fishers of men, so why not start in a boat?

With a craving for a less-is-more design recipe, the author desired a cover that incorporated a simple image of a rowboat and did not "look like every other Christian author". Using the author's initial idea, our cover cooks simmered an in-house illustration of a blue rowboat filled with brighly-colored flowers as a visual metaphor of the author's spiritual journey. Reflective of a chapter within the book, as well as the many challenges faced by the author throughout his life, the once ordinary boat is transformed into a blooming garden; nourished by the water stirred by the paddle and growing along its journey despite the miles of rough waters it has faced. The use of yellow also speaks of happiness, the harvest, hospitality, love, and benevolence.
